On the palate, you get heat, spice and oak on at first, but as you let it develop cinnamon clove, brown sugar and caramel appear.
The finish has a medium-length, pleasantly warm with hints of spice and mint.
This rye displays nice amount of rye spice that does not overwhelm. An elegant expression, soft and approachable with very little warmth to it despite the high proof.
It drinks nicely neat, although rocks tunes-down the subtle heat and the spice making it easier to drink.
