The nose brings the traditional Jack Daniel’s banana note, along a strong hint of maple syrup, lemon and a bit of alcohol, but nothing extreme.
On the palate, you get sweet honey and banana up-front, followed by a bit of oak char. There is subtle peppermint note to it which adds depth making it surprisingly interesting.
The finish is short-lived, mostly sweet, yet well balanced against a slight bitter note from the oak char, with mint and spice coming late.
Jack Daniel’s Honey is a pleasant surprise as I was expecting a cloying experience. Is not overly sweet and it has some interesting tasting notes that caught me by surprise.
It has no warmth or harsh notes making it a very easy drinker, thus you can drink it neat or rocks. You can also drink it in cocktails such as Lemonade or Ice Tea where it becomes quite enjoyable.

The nose is a bomb in cinnamon and honey, along a bit of oak.
On the palate, the Tennessee Fire feels somewhat warm at first, with more cinnamon and honey flavor, with a subtle tad of oak making it somewhat interesting.
Finish is short-lived, with more spicy cinnamon flavor to it and very little warmth.
Tennessee Fire is a flavored whiskey of recent creation, this is Jack Daniel’s answer to the overly successful Fireball Cinnamon Whisky. It tastes pretty much the same but with a few additional tasting notes making it a bit better.
It also feels a bit warmer as it has a higher proof (70 vs 66) but nothing severe. The higher proof also adds a bit more body to the liqueur as it has more texture.
Tennessee Fire is made from a mixture of the classic Jack Daniel’s, cinnamon and artificial sweeteners. This whiskey is a direct assault on the Fireball trying to bite from its enormous market share.
